Benelli’s ETHOS Shotgun is the culmination of Benelli innovation, refinement and design. All of Benelli’s ETHOS models are engineered around the Inertia Driven System making every ETHOS a joy to shoot and easy to maintain.

The Inertia Driven System is composed of three main parts: the bolt body, the inertia spring, and the bolt head. Reliable and fast, upon firing, the discharging shot-shell pushes back on the rotating bolt head, compressing the inertia spring. This unlocks the lugs on the bolt head from the barrel extension and the bolt and fired shell move rearward together. Once the bolt’s travel ends, the case hits the ejector and the empty is ejected. A spring in the stock pushes the bolt forward, picking up and chambering a fresh shell, locking the bolt head into the barrel extension. ETHOS shotguns stay clean much longer that others since powder gases and residue never enter the gun’s action. More trouble-free shooting and less cleaning and maintenance result. With this extremely strong action, the lugs on the rotating bolt head lock into the barrel extension for a solid steel-to-steel lockup and unlock in a wink upon firing. With only three main parts having a smaller mass, the cycling of the action is extremely faster that other systems.
