Cobalt Kinetics Team Construction
The TEAM is Cobalt’s finest expression of the AR-15. This rifle was built to win. All aspects of the design were refined in collaboration with iconic professional shooters. Receivers, handguard and stock are machined in-house from 7075 aluminum to maintain superior quality and fit. After final construction, these main components are serialized to ensure the integrity of the rifle.
Cobalt Kinetics Team Controls
Cobalt’s patented DUAL DROP adds new functionality to the AR-15 platform. The system allows the shooter to trip the bolt release with a thumb after a mag change while keeping the weapon on target. The magazine, selector controls, and charge handle are fully ambidextrous. The TEAM is fitted with an oversized magazine well to speed mag changes. The AR GOLD is included, as it is the only trigger that can match the performance of this rifle.
Cobalt Kinetics Team Operating System
The premium M-16 bolt group is nickel-boron coated to ensure ceaseless operation, even in the event of fouling and excessive heat. Our adjustable gas block is uniquely engineered to allow for precise, dependable operation. The TEAM comes fitted with our own patent pending buffer system. This buffer eliminates metal-to-metal contact and provides smooth, quiet operation and dramatically reduced recoil impulse.
Cobalt Kinetics Team Barrel
4150 CMV steel is treated with a lithium-iron surface conversion to add strength, rigidity, and resistance to heat and erosion. The barrel’s contour has been carefully designed to increase inherent long term accuracy and overall balance. Standard chambering is 223 Wylde and features a 1-8″ twist 5-R rifling profile. The TEAM comes fitted with the Cobalt PRO muzzle brake as standard kit.
Cobalt Kinetics Team STAGE – 2
The “STAGE 2” package adds a match grade stainless steel fluted barrel. A skeletonized low-mass bolt carrier in a gas-nitride surface finish. As part of this upgrade, we furnish a complete kit of weights and springs for fine-tuning the buffer system. Stage 2 is delivered exclusively in our Team’s colors- Silver with blue accents.
