The CMMG Dissent Br4 5.56 blends the AR15 magazine compatibility with traditional rifle style ergonomics. This semi-auto, state compliant, updated sporting rifle is built around CMMG's Dissent Compact Action and delivers AR like performance without a buffer tube or pistol grip. Running on a direct impingement system, and fitted with this compact action, eliminates the need for a traditional buffer on this unique stock arrangement. Shooter's can tune the Br4 5.56 for different loads, or suppressor use, with the 0.750 inch adjustable gas block that assists in managing recoil and reliability across a wide range of ammo. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this BR4 is available with a 16.1 inch barrel (1:7 twist), optimized for common 55-77 grain projectiles, a 14.5 inch barrel that is Pinned and Welded, along with an all new Empire profile, 16.1 inch, non-threaded barrel with a recessed barrel crown.

All CMMG Dissent Br4 5.56 models offer the 7075-T6 Aluminum upper and a Br4 Billet 7075 Aluminum lower that provide a rigid foundation with modern AR style controls. In place on a pistol grip and AR stock, the Dissent Br4 uses a Remington 870-compatible Magpul SGA fixed stock with a traditional rifle style lower profile filling the restrictive-state compliance. Additionally, a forward, non-reciprocating left-side charging handle makes manipulation easy, while still keeping the rifle on target, and incorporates a reversible cross-bolt safety and CMMG's ZEROED single-stage or drop in single-stage trigger that deliver a clean break suited for defensive or general purpose shooting. Every Dissent Br4 also uses a proprietary free-float M-LOK handguard, from 13.5 - 15 inches, depending on the configuration, with a full length Picatinny top rail to add optics and sights. CMMG's threaded Dissent Br4 models ship with their ZEROED muzzle brake on 1/2x28 threads, and some compliant variants of this rifle use an unthreaded Empire-Profile barrel with a recessed crown.
