The CMMG Dissent Mk57 5.7X28 SBR is a unique PDW designed on the Mk57 lower sharing magazines with FN Five-seveN pattern pistols, affording cross-compatibility between handgun and SBR. Structured on CMMG's Compact Action Radial Delayed Blowback system, this architecture is bufferless as the recoil system in contained in the upper with no receiver extension or traditional buffer tube. This set up drastically shortens overall length and and offers folding-stock options. An evolution of CMMG's pistol-caliber Radial Delayed Blowback, the action is slowed and softened, compared to straight blowback firearms, allowing for a lighter bolt and milder recoil impulse for fast strings. In simpler terms, shooters mostly feel the mass of the short-travel bolt cycling on the MK57, as the gun stays flat and controllable, even more since the 5.7 recoil is already low. Sporting a 6.5 inch 4140 Chrome-Moly SBN barrel, with 1:9 twist, it is suppressor friendly threaded 1/2x28 and ships with a ZEROED linear compensator keeping the blast forward in a PDW length.
