The CMMG Dissent MkG 45 ACP SBR, built on the MkG pistol-caliber platform, was created as a compact PCC/SBR with a 'big bore, small footprint' claim to fame. Crafted on CMMG's radial delayed blowback Compact Action with a fixed ejector, a lighter bolt assembly and tamed recoil, compared to straight blowback .45 PCCs is the result. More consistent cycling, over a wide range of .45 ACP loads is also realized. Additionally, with the recoil system being self-contained in the carrier, no AR style buffer tube is needed on this Dissent MkG SBR, allowing for a very short overall length and folding stock use. Engineered with a 6.5 inch, 4140 CM steel barrel/1:16 twist, with SBN treatment and 0.578x28 threads, this .45 ACP SBR sports a CMMG ZEROED linear compensator and a proprietary 5.5 inch MLOK handguard along with a full-length top Picatinny rail to add many accessories.

Each CMMG Dissent MkG 45 ACP SBR upper is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and paired with a forged 7075-T6 MkG lower that is set up to accept Glock-pattern .45 magazines. A rear 1913 Picatinny rail end cap, instead of a traditional receiver extension, allows for a Dissent side‑folding B5 Systems Modular Platform Stock, and CMMG has included an ambi-sytled ZEROED 60/90 degree safety selector, an integrated trigger guard, ZEROED pistol grip and a drop-in single-stage trigger on all Dissent MkG .45 ACP SBRs. Shooters have a choice of seven Cerakote finishes and each .45 ACP SBR ships with two 13‑round, Glock‑pattern .45 ACP magazines
