The Benelli R1 Rifle is an innovative semi-automatic hunting rifle. Trim, fast handling and built around the patented Auto-Regulating-Gas-Operated (A.R.G.O.) piston driven system. R1’s action is the same system used in Benelli’s M4 tactical shotgun. Benelli’s ARGO system was selected by the U.S. Marie Corps because of its relentless reliability and reduction of felt recoil. This system is adapted for use with centerfire rifle cartridges paired with a three-lug rotary bolt.
Each Benelli R1 Rifle has a sleek silhouette that resembles their legendary Super Black Eagle shotgun. A free-floating, cryogenically treated barrel is paired with a steel upper receiver that offers super accuracy and a secure platform to mount optics. The R1 stock is available in either black or select walnut and lends itself to blending the curves and angles into an elegance that is effective and efficient as well as pleasing to the eye.
