The SIG Sauer 516 G3 (Bronze) is the newest "Gen 3" member of Sig's short-stroke piston AR15 pattern rifle. Sig has blended modern enhancements with the proven, trusted, battle-tested legacy of the 516 series. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this 516 G3 is intended as a duty-grade carbine/modern sporting rifle, utilizing only premium, steel-reinforced, components. Every SIG 516 delivers uncompromising reliability and flawless operation with a short-stroke piston and adjustable gas system, under the handguard. This gives shooters the ability to tune the gas settings to suit the mission. Owning a standard G3 carbine configuration, the 16 inch, cold hammer forged, chrome lined steel barrel has a 1:7 twist and 1/2-28 tpi tapered shoulder. Optimized for 55-77 gr projectiles, every SIG 516 G3 also features a free-floating alloy M-LOK handguard with plenty of space for accessories. Additionally, SIG ships every 516 G3 with a SIG flash hider/compensator and a 6 position Magpul DT collapsible stock that sports an AR-compatible reduced-angle pistol grip.

Each SIG Sauer 516 G3 offers a unique rear and side non-reciprocating, ambidextrous charging handle arrangement, allowing this rifle to be run from a traditional rear-charge or side-charge position, without the handle moving under fire. Also included are a fully ambidextrous bolt catch, magazine release and safety selector. SIG's Matchlite DUO curved trigger delivers a cleaner, lighter break than any mil-spec trigger on every G3. Enhanced longevity of the 516 G3, under heavy round counts, is provided as this rugged, mission ready piston AR SIG Sauer 516 G3 is the next evolution of the original 516.
