To obtain a hunting license in Texas, you must first complete a hunter education course, if you were born on or after September 2, 1971.
Once completed, you can purchase a license online, by phone, or in person at a licensed retailer or Texas Parks and Wildlife Department office. You will need to provide proof of completing the hunter education course and personal identification.
Additionally, you may be required to show proof of residency, or pay an non-resident fee.
It’s also worth noting that some species have additional permit requirements, such as big game hunting, so it’s always a good idea to check with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department before heading out to hunt.
