The HK P2000 40 (40 Caliber) Pistol incorporates features of the HK USP Compact pistol with new innovations of HK engineers. A refined design of the P2000 for European police agencies is available with the double-action/single-action trigger mode and the LEM/CDS (Law Enforcement Modification know as Combat Defense Action) trigger system. HK’s LEM system, combining a cocked striker component with a double-action hammer system, was created to improve the trigger performance and reduce the weight of the DAO trigger pull on HK pistols.

LEM models of the HK P2000 Pistol have a unique LEM pre-cocked hammer system combining advantages of a cocked striker component (constant trigger pull and short trigger travel) with a double action hammer system. Use of this enhanced trigger system consolidates easy use and safety in a trigger operation that prevents unintended firing of the P2000. In case of failure to fire, all that is needed is an additional pull of the trigger, without the need to pull the slide back, to re-cock this pistol. A double action revolver trigger and the precise trigger of a single action pistol are combined in the LEM trigger system.

Modular grip panels make the P2000 customizable to each individual shooter. Dual slide release levers and an ambidextrous magazine release make handling the P2000 easy for both right and left handed shooters. Standard mounting rails on every HK P2000 allow for a wide variety of lights, lasers and accessories to be added.
