The SIG ROMEO M17 is the Mil-Spec Red Dot specifically designed for the M17 and M18, the pistols selected by the US Military as their official sidearm. Utilizing Sig’s proprietary SIG-LOC mounting interface, this ROMEO M17 red dot, fits only the SIG M17/M18 military issue commemorative pistols with single optics plate mounting screws. Sporting a fully enclosed, sealed and purged optical system, the ROMEO M17 is protected from the elements. Additionally, the ROMEO M17 includes an integrated gas deflector on the front of the housing, machined anti-reflective grooves on the rear surfaces for reduced glare, along with an extremely low deck height that allows for a full sight picture and co-witness with standard-height sights. Also equipped with a high efficiency point source LED emitter with a 2 MOA dot/32 MOA circle reticle, the reticles can be independently selected as circle only, dot only or a circle/dot combination. Fifteen brightness settings on the ROMEO M17, are accessed by buttons that move up and down, can be detected by feel and include three that are optimized for use with Gen 3+ Night Vision devices. This is all powered by one side-mounted CR2032 battery, that can be removed easily for changes, and offers a runtime of 20,000 hours at medium brightness on this Romeo M17 red dot. Two drainage holes, machined in the sides of the housing, allow pooled liquid to escape when the optic is moved from a vertical to a horizontal position. Other features on every SIG Romeo M17 include MOTAC (Motion Activated Technology), MAGNETAC (Magnetic Activation) along with D.A.R.C. (Dark Adaptive Reticle & Coatings).
